Most Canadians Viewed Cannabis as an Economic Asset

Seven years after nationwide legalisation, a majority of Canadians viewed the cannabis industry as an important part of the country’s economy.

Polling showed growing public confidence in the sector, with support spanning both major political parties. As trade uncertainty affected other industries, cannabis was increasingly seen as a stable contributor to jobs, tax revenue and business growth.

Many respondents also backed further reforms — including tax adjustments, stronger action against illicit markets and expanding product development — signalling the public believed the industry still had room to grow.
